But looking backward from our more enlightened, homogenized world in 2022, we owe this Fellow at Harvard's Black Studies department, the W.E.B. DuBois Institute, our gratitude for all he has done to erase all diversity in human skin color.
What makes Marxist Noel Ignatiev's achievement all the greater is that he was born with white skin. He was an abolitionist who set out to abolish himself — and as we now know, he succeeded.

That was my take on it the first time this subject came up as well. The guy was trying to state a common viewpoint in the most inflammatory way possible, because he wanted publicity.
How many times have you heard someone say something like "wouldn't it be nice if all the races got together and there were no more blacks and whites; just shades of brown"? A lot of times, I'll bet. But when someone takes that same idea and expresses it as "ABOLISH THE WHITE RACE!!!!" it draws a helluva lot more controversy.

Well, I'm sure we could genetically engineer a fully functional hermaphrodite sometime in the future, so we don't we abolish sex, too? But let's not call it "Theorist calls for gradual introduction of third sex to eliminate sex differences" -- let's go for "FEMINIST PLOT TO ANNIHILATE MEN." Gets much more readership, I daresay.

Actually, it is just different shades of brown.
"Hi there, would you like to have a cookie?"

And then certain Hispanics take that as their cue to be racially biased. [sighs]
It doesn't matter what you do, the differences are only in the minds of the people that see them. If you made everybody brown they would be against something else(maybe Blodes for example). If you made everybody hemaphrodite then they they would claim that minor variations where terribly important, they have to have the ability to look down on somebody. This makes them stupid.
