Bush's visit to Australia.

Post by weemadando »

After some truly spectacularly bad displays of pseudo-politics from some backbenchers, the Australian parliament moved onto to an interesting order of business which I heard raised in the Senate the other day.

Would foreign personel be allowed to carry weapons onto the grounds of or into the Australian Parliament?

This is in direct reference to George Bush's visit to Australia and his speech at Parliament. And of course, in addition to the possibility of American Secret Service personel carrying weapons into our own fucking parliament, the entire building and grounds are off-limits to the public in order to protect GWB.

Fuck that. In addition to being unconstitutional and indeed illegal (all actions of parliament are the public domain and the parliament is directly answerable to the people, by locking the doors you're circumventing our own fucking constitution) its a fucking travesty that the US thinks it can treat us like a goddamn little child. If our Houses of Parliament aren't fucking secure enough for you, then why the fuck do you always come crying to us when you want military support? Especially if you don't think we can even protect our goddamn capital.

This is just one more big FUCK YOU from the US to Australia in general and in return I'd like to proclaim a big hearty FUCK YOU to the United States and all of its citizens who think that this is in any way shape or form fair and just, let alone a way to treat one of your allies.

Er, who cares as long as the Aussies in the area are also packing heat? Really, if you sent your own PM here, no one would raise a bitchfest
about some of his bodyguards being SAS members and having enough firepower to level the Capitol.

If Bush doesn't want to follow the rules of your country, then you don't have to let him in. Obviousily the constitution doesn't mean that much to you people.

Thats the fucking point, it means a lot to people who don't have their lips wrapped firmly around his cock... Far too many Australians are sick and fucking tired of Little John kow-towing to Dubya's every fucking whim and desire.

Except IIRC Australian DPG weren't allowed near Congress at all when John made his speeches in the US.

Well then send that FUCK YOU to your own dickless government. We have our hands full trying to stop Shrub from being an asshole to us back at home.

Quit your whining. He'll be in your country only a few hours probably. We get him for most of the year.

Not that Ando is being a full-fledged member of the Whiner's Club about this, but he does have a point. The Aussie gov't shouldn't have to tell Dubya and the Secret Service to comply with Australian law; they should do it on their own out of respect, being on a friendly diplomatic mission and all.

I'll admit that I am being whiney about this, but be damned if every second thread I post here isn't a goddamn bitch about the state of my nations government... So, just to make you all happy:

FUCK YOU JOHN HOWARD.

Thats the funniest thing I have read all week

TThis reminds me of the stink the USSS created when Clinton came to NZ. The issue was should any ones body gaurd be allowed to bring firearms. A amendment was needed to the firearms act and it passed. That was nessary or the US Pres wouldnt come here.

The funniest thing I heard was when Clinton was staying in Christchurch, where I live. A freind of my mothers was walking past the Hotel where Clinto was to stay. A SS agent stopped her and told her to step off the footpath.
SS "Please step of the side walk"
Freind "Where are you from?"
SS "I am from the government"
Freind "But not from our government"
Mums freind walk around SS agent and goes about her business.

Trust me, some of these guys are as arrogant as hell, but most are quite polite and respectfull..mind you I know from some other freinds that their plain clothes types stand out like hard on's on a kilt.
