WTF Of The Year.

Post by Nathan F »

I'm sitting here watching the news right now, and they just showed this thing about this old fat guy who walks out of a courthouse and starts shooting at an attorney. The shooting was caught on tape and it was shown. Funny thing is, the guy wasn't ever more than 5 or 6 feet away from the attorney, but never did anything other than graze him. The son of a bitch then just walks off like nothign happened, with cameras watching him, only to be tackled by another guy.

I mean, WTF? I'll post a link up to the online story once one is put up.

Story:
http://www.courttv.com/trials/blake/103103_ap.html

LOS ANGELES (Court TV) — Drama surrounded the hearing of actor Robert Blake both in and out of the courtroom Friday. Shortly after the judge dismissed conspiracy charges against the former 'Baretta' star, a lawyer was shot outside of the Van Nuys, Calif., courthouse.

A man fired several shots at the attorney and then walked calmly away. He was apprehended moments later and the victim was taken away concious in an ambulance.

It appears the shooting was not related to the hearing, during which a judge upheld a murder charge against the actor in the death of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, but dismissed charges of conspiracy to commit murder against both Blake and his bodyguard, Earle Caldwell.

"I cannot find a strong suspicion," Superior Court Judge Darlene Schempp said. "I think the evidence here is so speculative it carries very little weight. I simply don't find there is probable cause."

The courthouse was locked down during the hearing when a lawyer was shot on pubic walkway. The incident was captured on film by CourtTV cameramen on the scene for the Blake hearing.

"You took my money, that's what you get,'' the suspect reportedly yelled
at the victim, according to reports from the scene.

Moments after the shooting, the gunman was slowly walking off when he was tackled by an off-duty sheriff's deputy and arrested. The suspect is believed to be a client of the victim, according to Los Angeles police spokesman Officer James Chong.

A lawyer was shot three times by a gunman outside the same courthouse where the Robert Blake hearing occurred earlier Friday

"This is a tragic event and the court is very concerned," said Alan Parachini, a Superior Court spokesman.

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

No he was hit, he collapsed on the ground while the camera was focusing on the shooter.~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

That attorney had a great survival instinct- combined with the fact that his assassin was an idiot, that saved him.

Most people are calm enough when being shot at to try something like that.
