It's one thing to say that they purposely suppressed him as both companies were competing for dominance, and another to argue that it's been perpetuated for over a century.

Actually, the whole Tesla conspiracy cropped up waaaay back when Thomas Edison was still with GE. See, Thomas Edison's baby was direct current, so he went to great lengths to see that it was used, regardless of the advantages of alternating current.

He even made the world's first electric chair using AC, because he thought that AC was "deadly" and wanted to stir up negative press against the evils of AC.

Small surprise that General Electric voted Edison off their board of directors some years later.

Okay, then it's the Edison Foundation and the Edison Institute which in collaboration have been keeping Tesla under wraps.
