World War III?

Post by Techno_Union »

If we ever have another world war, where, when, who, and how will it happen?

Is it likely that we would have another one?

Who would be involved?

Why would it happen?

My guess is that some nation would fire a nuke to some country. Their allies would reswapn and then the entire world has WWIII on their hands.

But it wouldn't be on their hands for long. Its called MAD. And you'd have to be truly mad to take that option.

MAD is a load of bullshit for the record.

As for a world war, its not going to happen, at least no on the scale of the last two, the reason is that the few nations, which could wage a world war, well basically the US needs targets that will last more then a month, benefit far too much for mutual trade, there simply not going to throw it all away in a huge war.

It's bullshit insofar as a complete cleansing of human life, but remember that 20 million casualties and the likely destruction of a great deal of industry would set back the United States economy by decades.

He meant that MAD has never been US policy.

China is the most likley VS if we went to war though a Middle-Eastern Combine might work if they cut us off from Oil making us go and take it

The only way a large-scale third world war would happen is if the entire planet somehow fell into a profound global depression and the United States somehow lost entire orders of magnitude of military and economic superiority in relation to the rest of the world. As it is, the best you can hope (and if you're hoping for WW3, you probably need your head examined) for is some really nasty regional conflict in some part of the planet that will be promptly squashed flat by a combination of international sanctions and/or military intervention from powers with much bigger sticks (And that's assuming that they'll be really all that willing to intervene in the interests of overall global peace. After all if, say, China decides to conquer all of southeast Asia, all it'll do is put some middling trading partners under new management and render China less able to threaten the other world powers.)
