As much as I dislike Labour and Teflon Tony, I can't stand this woman either.

I have far more respect for Robin Cook than I ever do for her, even if she's proved right, she's still an annoying woman who sounds like she's got stuck eating a toffee crisp - thank you Dead Ringers... she came across as a hanger on back then, and she's coming across as a cheap point scorer now.

Even Robin Cook's telling her to shut up, and that he doubts this story.

What she says is probably true (and every country probably does it). That doesn't change the fact that she had no right at all to reveal it.

The British government doesn't want two accident/suicides in one year. Looks bad in the newspapers and upsets civilians at their breakfasts.

Yes, I think that's the thing, I'm neither surprised nor fussed that the intelligence service was tapping the phones, hell, they have to be doing something, they dont just sit around doing extra bits for the Bond films every now and again, we dont have MI6 for nothing, but she just comes out like a web board vulture, just sniping to make herself look good or important again.

Robin Cook left with a lot more style than she did, and I shouldnt even be comparing the two...

However the UN’s own website does offer verbatim transcripts of all Kofi Annan’s statements and “off-the-cuff” remarks. The organisation is keen that even his unprepared asides reach the outside world. Ms Short may simply have seen what has always been available to all.

If thats what she was refering to, she's more of a moron than I thought.
