Considering he's from Denmark, he's probably been hearing a lot about the German cannibal case on the news. But that's the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm not just thinking of that german cannibal, I'm also thinking of some other cannibal which the danish news-media (or at least the tabloids) made a big fuss out of, because he claimed to emulate Hannibal The Cannibal.

So why hasn't the EU tried to do more about this if they are such great compassionate people? Go send them bushels of your non-genetically-engineered food or invade or something. Look at what your apathy is doing! It is driving these people to loose their dignity and go to cannibalism! Isn't that against some kind of policy you have?
