CNN is still showing stories on their front page of him being cornered. Found anything else to support this?

I kind of figured something like this was going to happen given the losses that the Pakistan Army is reportedly facing. If they DID let him slip, it's going to be a huge pychological blow.

Aparently so. CNN/PBS has been saying that they had to be heavily reinforced because of taking so many losses.

CNN is now reporting that the Pakistani government is now hedging its bets, claiming that maybe Al Zwahiri was never there to begin with ( ), and that the Al Qaeda fighters may be protecting a "local crime" leader, who may have escaped!

They are also saying they captured about 100 combatants.

Wow, Shrubby must be upset that he can't get his PR boost from netting an important member. It's great how the media says that they're going to settle his hash as soon as they have slight evidence of him being there, and later saying 'Whoops, we were wrong' when he escapes.

I really doubt he was ever there; though I doubt the Pak's knowingly lied about it, there more then smart enough to know that there going to look fucking stupid if they don't deliver.
