U.S. Unloading WMD in Iraq (Tin foil hat time)

Post by theski »

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – Over the past few days, in the wake of the bombings in Karbala and the ideological disputes that delayed the signing of Iraq’s interim constitution, there have been reports that U.S. forces have unloaded a large cargo of parts for constructing long-range missiles and weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the southern ports of Iraq.

A reliable source from the Iraqi Governing Council, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Mehr News Agency that U.S. forces, with the help of British forces stationed in southern Iraq, had made extensive efforts to conceal their actions
HEHEHE Tehrantimes hehehe

The writer ignores the fact that if the US even felt like it they can launch WMDs from the saftey of home.

Tinfoil hat for sure.

Erm, I think the article was trying to say that we're sneaking WMD into Iraq to cover up the fact that they had none in the first place. You know, the reason we used to justify the war and stuff?

I doubt the States would just now bring in their own WMDs and say 'Hey! WMDs!' They would have done it a while ago if that was their plan, and I don't think it would be terribly easy to make them look old, decrepit (they would have to have been 'hidden' in the ground for 'years', remember) and Iraqi especially if they wnated to keep it completely secret.

And also incredible stupid, why would we bring the stuff in through ports surrounded by cities and filled with civilian traffic, when we could just fly everything we needed into the many airbases we hold in remote parts of the country. That would also let the trucks or however the stuff is to be moved to a hiding spot avoid a lot of bomb and ambush prone road.

I dunno...I think the article was implying that they were sneaking in stuff specifically to use against Iran.
Don't hate; appreciate!

Just to clarify, aren't most WMD's extremely traceable? I don't know how anyone could possibly expect US weapons to pass off as Iraqi manufactured weapons.

I don't think even the Bush administration is reckless enough to plant WMDs and say "Hey, look what we found!" The ramifications for getting caught would be so enormous that it's not worth it.
