There are some old black civil rights leaders and pastors in Atlanta who are condemning homosexuality, saying that they can't choose to be black but people CAN choose to be gay, so it's perfectly alright to discriminate against them. They even got together and wrote up a bunch of letters saying so.

(On the other hand, in the latest battle in the Georgia legislature over the proposed gay marriage amendment to the state constitution, many of the old civil rights people DID take the other side, noting the hypocrisy in saying that it's okay for two people of different races to marry but not two people of the same gender.)

This is good, the only governmentally recognised union should be gender blind civil unions, banning marriage across the board is simply delicious to me.
