In defense of Kast, he says Christians (specifically American right wing Christians) believe Jesus would condemn Obama. Not that Jesus actually would do that, necessarily.
And in this instance it's the belief that matters. The reason they believe it is the way American Christianity is so very good at ignoring all the things Jesus said about rich vs poor and about giving away everything you own while holding tightly to the Old Testament morality sermons (especially wrt sex).
