So, anyway, the only country I know of that should be allowed to complain about America is Mexico, 'cause we trashed them 100+ years ago and they haven't recovered.

They have no legitimate cause for complaint?

I was debating the decision to go to war when it took place, with people far more competent than you are now and that was back when you were still in your fucking diapers. Kid, the US didn't give a flying fuck about Saddam Hussein killing Iraqis. The US didn't give a fuck when Saddam gassed the Kurds and in fact downplayed the evidence and denied it was happening at the time. The US didn't give a fuck about the Iraqis trying to rise up against Saddam after the 1991 war against Iraq. The only time the US gave a fuck was in 2003 when it served the political agenda of those in power to invade, forcibly change the regime, and take over. In 2003 this was not done to protect other countries (in 1991 liberating Kuwait was the justification and that was actually accomplished), it was done with the intention of removing Saddam from power and getting access to Iraqi petroleum resources. The justification was "weapons of mass destruction", which at the time independent authorities could not verify and the "evidence" for it subsequently has been proven to have been deliberately forged. In other words, the Bush II administration wanted to eliminate Saddam and were happy to lie to achieve that end, and happy to kill thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to bring down just one man who, at the time in question, could not harm the US.

Let me distill that into one sentence: The US invent evidence and lied about WMD to eliminate one man they did not like, has never expressed regret over the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqis "collateral damage", and stole, or at least forced greatly reduced prices, for a bunch of their natural resources. Basically, the US did to the Iraqis what was done to the Native Americans.

It is a blot on the US, a stain on the nation's honor, and your perpetuation of this as somehow a good thing or even a justifiable thing makes me want to vomit.

To be fair, one of the driving reasons in Broom's condensed version, was Bush Jr's feeling of finishing (or perhaps doing more than) what his father started, coupled with real or imagined slights against his family by Saddam. Behind which was a bunch of bootlickers and corporate incarnates in government seeing empire more than willing to go along. I advocated the war, when it started, pretty much because I could see it as a finishing of what was already started, and hoped it would be putting to bed something that may fester and bite us in the ass later. Now, shamefully, I regret supporting it in those early years. For me, it is not even that we did it, it is that it was so cravenly executed, so ineptly done, that it was allowed to fester and degrade into such a shithole, while still being held up as some triumph, that it just boggles my mind. Coupled with the fact that, yes, we were lied to, and the whole thing got turned into a hustle, just enrages me.
