All this discussion is leading us nowhere. Everybody's speculating stuff, the only way to reach a conclusion is to obtain physical, practical evidence. So, in the spirit of this thread I'm going, um, to gather some of that, er evidence, and test a theory, yeah. I'll tell you guys in the hangov... er morning.

Your problem.
Bullshit. Our "problem" is that we don't buy your moronic misrepresentation of "this is a stupid thing to do" as "you shouldn't have the right to do that". But be that as it may; I have your idiotic statement on record and I have what I need. Feel free to continue your pathetic whining.

So you DO concede that it IS stupid, just less stupid.
I just added emphasis to the original quote.

Of course its relevant. Will you argue that if I come over there and psychologically torture you but do no physical harm that I haven't done anything wrong?

The way I see it, yes. I think it's less stupid because I'm the only one at risk. I've jumped my mountain bike down rocky hills densely covered by trees, and I don't think it's stupid. I think it's fun.
And I know it's both. I've careened down tree-strewn inclines by accident before. It was the biggest rush I had ever had, because of the danger involved. And yes, to willingly endager your life like that, in total defiance of the most basic of biological instincts, for little more than an adrenaline rush, is flat-out dumb. Fun, yes, but still dumb.

In short, it doesn't matter how fun it is, or how many or how few are at risk. Stupid is stupid.

EOD, one question. Why does something need to be immoral to be stupid?

From Dictionary.com:

stu·pid ( P ) Pronunciation Key (stpd, sty-)
adj. stu·pid·er, stu·pid·est
1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse.
2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.
3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake.
4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied.
5. Pointless; worthless: a stupid job.

WOW. Look at that. #2-4 seem to fit the description of someone whos drunk. Just like we've been saying all along. It says NOTHING about hurting someone else.

As far as I understand Embracer Of Darkness's ethics system, the only difference between "reckless" and "stupid" is whether or not someone dies. In other words if someone plays Russian Roulette and lives it's merely reckless, but if his luck runs out and he blows his brains out it's stupid. Duh-DUH...

Nice strawman fallacy. We have pointed out REPEATEDLY that drinking is addictive which is a known FACT and you distort that to "anyone who drinks is an alcohlic". Might I suggest you not be drunk when trying to debate?

In your mind, you mean. Doesn't change the fact that your doing stupid stuff for fun. Isn't that supposed to be the entire point?

Your problem.
In the context of this argument, are you really so much of a fucking idiot that you can't see that this philosophy of yours doesn't apply to the things you're trying to defend? I'm going to answer my own question by saying that yes, apparently you are really that moronic..

Newsflash:
Engaging in those activities you term "reckless, but not stupid" (meaningless semantic hairsplitting, by the way) such as Russian Roulette, risking breaking your neck going downhill on a wooded slope etc doesn't affect just you. Yeah, if you fuck up, the physical injuries and possible death will happen to you, but the consequences of that fuckup actually touch other people as well. People such as members of your family and your friends. Do you think that it wouldn't hurt them if you died, that they'll just shrug their shoulders and go on with their life as if nothing had happened?

Your actions will have a very real impact on those around you, and pretending otherwise doesn't change that fact. Self-destructive behavior doesn't hurt just you, it also hurts those around you who actually care about you, and can have some really serious consequences (depression, for example, and that's not something to laugh at).

Unless of course you're one of those people who has no family and no friends, in which case talking to you about this sort of thing would be completely useless. Whatever, on the last several pages of this thread you've so completely managed to demonstrate to everyone that you are an idiot that I don't see redemption anytime in the near future.

So let me get this straight... I said something you don't agree with, and even consider stupid, and you expect me to even bother trying to "redeem" myself? :? Redeem myself to who, you? I've never even met you, moron, why should I try to redeem "myself" in your eyes? I think you better re-think this holier than thou judgemental attitude, because some people honestly don't give a fuck wether you think they're retarded or not.

Thanks for giving me the biggest laugh I've ever had to date on this board. Really.

Wrong. Basically it's "if they only hurt themselves in the process, then who gives a fuck?"

And yes, I was talking about physical harm, not emotional, for any other idiots out there who want to be nitpicky over something so trivial.

Jeez, my opinion must really fucking hurt you people for you to care so much.
