I'd also like to point out that Darth Moron has not actually provided any evidence that the Vatican actually controls *any* of the money that went to her. All he posted was that her charity was set up with the Vatican's permission, there is *no* information on how or where any donations are sent/distributed.
On the other hand, all the articles I've posted make note of donations going directly to her bank account, through sisters working directly under her, not as Vatican intermediaries. There is no mention of the Vatican or its involvement in her financial matters at all, in fact.

I came onto this thread late, but in response to the question can I do better than Mother Theresa, well lets see.
When I see terminally ill patients in the hospital, I actually give them morphine and anxiolytic agents. If they are not terminally ill, believe it or not, actually treat them, and not by mumbling empty words to a magic man living in the sky. I don't find people's suffering particularly beautiful and certainly don't think the world is helped by this.
So hell yeah, I am better than that bitch on my worse day than she is on her best day.

The Indian government honestly had other better things to do than to examine one religious charity which was making absurd claims about the good work. Furthermore, the publicity generated by Mother teresa also protected her and nobody bothered to actually check.

To put it simply, once the "word" got out that Teresa was working a charity, our own stereotypes about "charity", "help" and "religion" kicked in and filled in all the gaps. Most people don't know what she was doing, just that she claims to be helping the poor and ill.
