Hey, opiates work - they take your pain away and make you feel better. That's why addicts use them. They work. At least at first. And then your tolerance goes up....

Couldn't it just be he felt stressed, depressed, couldn't sleep, so he went to a doctor for some pills (better living through chemistry), found they didn't do the job, so went to another doctor for some more pills with the thought that taking multiple different pills at recommended doses would be as effective as the pills added together, but not dangerous because he's only taking recommended doses?
No need for him to be an addict. Just stupid.

True but how people percieve that pain is. Again, two people with simular toothaches. Each will have elevated pulse, rapid breathing, increaced bp. One toothache could be managed with lortab and the other could tell you the lortab does nothing for the pain and needs something like percets to manage the same pain.

That's why it's subjective.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

It was said that three of the drugs were prescribed in France. Is it possible that language difficulties resulted in a doctor giving out three new prescriptions for different drugs there instead of re-filling the three older ones?

For three or four of the most popular drugs out there, especially for druggies? I find that hard to swallow.

Not as unreasonable as you might think - different drugs are available in different formulations in different countries, different regions have different prescribing patterns and preferences... but yeah, putting a language barrier in the mix might well make it easier for someone to get a doubled prescription.
