Wait, Kim's really strange son used to break dance in my Rodina? The more you know.

Isn't that the kid who tried to sneak into Japan with a fake Dominican Republic passport?

I remember hearing about that when I visited some relatives in Japan. It was apparently the reason it took so long to get through the customs line (only to get to the end and get waved through because my mom's a Japanese citizen).

They went to Russia for education, if I recall correctly.

So, yeah. We're talking about the insane military junta of dystopic North Korea, how mad they are and now insane Kim Jong Il is, how evil they are for ensuring the continued misery of their people. And then, off to the whacky hijinks of North Korea's ex-heir apparent - cognitive dissonance, eh?

Perhaps if (and when?) North Korea falls and those junta guys squabble amidst themselves, foreign intervention would place Break Dancing Kim Jr. as a figurehead in the new North Korean government? He would be malleable and pliable and open to suggestion, so it'd suit everyone's ends well.

Anyway, the second son is poised to become the heir. With the Army backing him and his mommy up. These family faction things sort of remind me of some movie about ancient China (ala Curse of the Golden Flower).

But now Kim Jong Il is favoring his youngest son because while the eldest is a breakdancer, the second son is apparently a girlie man.

Eh, if they conduct their national affairs like the way they do, a dysfunctional family probably isn't too surprising or unexpected.

Is it just me or do warlords and despots generally end up having heirs who are fat and lazy and incompetent, to the detriment of whatever kingdom they've propped up? It even happened to the Khanate...

It happens in almost every rich family, because of their wealth the kids get spoiled and never have to do a hard day of work.
The smart ones make sure not to spoil their kids, I remember a story in the news the other year where the Thai prime minister forced his kids to go work at McDonalds despite the family being good for countless millions of dollars.

You know, don't the Russians still insist the seismic record was appropriate for a much larger detonation, anyway?

:wtf: Macau is the Chinese equivalent of Las Vegas, Nevada-- the city's basically one giant casino. Where the hell would Kim Jong-nam get money to gamble with? I doubt his credit is good enough for him to get a loan at a bank that deals in hard currency, i.e., banks outside of North Korea-- hell, I doubt anyone in that entire nation has good enough credit.
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

His father did put a heck of a lot of money in Macau, until the US Treasury imposed sanctions at their favourite piggy bank.

Daddy's allowance? After all, the Dear Leader is apparently able to spend $700,000 on Hennessy cognac every year.
