He's actually got it completely backwards. Prior to Bush, contempt for the USA was more for the elite. Bush brought contempt of the USA to the average non-American.

Didn't Bush recently award something like "Medal of Freedom" to Alvaro Uribe? Indeed, history writes itself. He should've given that to the narcobarons of Afghanistan and Augusto Pinochet as well; too bad the latter kicked the bucket before Bush could award him.
