Hate to break it to you but most of the "conspiracy theory" types are, sadly, liberal in their values.

Really? I got the impression that they were overwhelmingly 'paleoconservative'. They hate 'big government' and most of the other established power structures real and imagined, but they tend to be highly religious, capitalist, pro-militia and anti-gay/socalist/black 'agenda'. AFAIK most of these people voted for Ron Paul in the US primaries.

No, he cut his wrist in the failed suicide attempt. The overdose that killed him was four months later, when he foolishly shot up a dose of a size that he was used to as a junkie on the first try after completely losing his tolerance in jail. You're thinking of the simplified sequence of events as they were presented in the movie Sid and Nancy.
