Re: CA Voters Crush Tax Hikes, Blame Government
Welcome to my wonderful state, it's a crime how bad the government and especially the Voters are. Mind you the Schools/Unions were very big on stopping 1A & 1B, however many groups suggested voting for 1C, but the core problem was that most everything was designed to continue business as usual, playing shell games and barrowing from tomarrow, because the fucking voters won't pay for anything we need today.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if it were a significant difference per capita, though. The Duchess of Zeon wrote:I have little sympathy for the Californians, who manage to have programmes not really more effective than our's, which cost substantially more due to what can only be corruption, inefficiency, and general incompetence.
Per capita, or else we'd have had a budget deficit 5 times smaller than your's.... Whereas we had one ten times smaller than the one you still have left after trying to close your original budget deficit.

Ahh, I think you don't understand, absentee voting is mandatory in all Washington counties except King County (and I think they're changing over to that format, too). There are no more polling places anywhere in the state, you just receive an absentee ballot in the mail automatically if you're a registered voter.Master of Ossus wrote:Indeed. I always vote absentee, simply because my work schedule sometimes interferes with my ability to get to the polls on any particular day, so it helps to have an extra few days to fill the thing out and mail it back in.CaptainChewbacca wrote:We have mail-in voting in California, too. All you have to do is pick up a ballot at some point in the month before the election, fill it out, and drop it in the mail.

See now, this is CA incompetance at it's best. In MD, at least in Montgomery County, all the polling places are in.......Public Schools!CaptainChewbacca wrote:I voted, but it wasn't easy. They moved my ordinary polling place to a trailer park that I never knew existed, even though it was only 4 blocks away.
