I remember reading somewhere that support in the US for Israel has dropped massively since Cast Lead and netenyahu came to power, even though support for the palestinians remains low. and by dropped, i mean 20% drop. And around 1/3rd believe israel wants peace. Apparently netenyahu's douchebaggery convinced a lot of people that Israel doesn't want peace.

oh, here's the link.

It's not much, but if trends continue Obama might be able to force Netenyahu to cut the crap and give the palestinians a legitimate deal.

Oh and Shep. As for the Palestinians dancing in the West Bank; I don't blame them. They just found out that the nation which funded their oppressors and allowed them to get away with human rights abuses had suffered big time. Asking them to feel sorry for the americans is like asking the aztecs to feel sorry for the spanish government that funded Cortez after they got their butts kicked by the british in 1588. They aren't going too. Not the most rational response to be sure, but given the circumstances, kind of understandable.

As for Iran, they wouldn't nuke Israel because as Coyote said, they would be signing their own death warrent in that case.
