The infantry fighting insurgents on the ground can think what they like. But people making decisions in the Pentagon ? They should have realized not all islamic fanatics are from Madrashahs. Personally I know professors and engineers who are sympathetic to islamist causes. Mind you most of them value their jobs, families etc too much to ever leave their comfortable urban lives. But there are enough sympathetic technical people in the world of islamic faith and anti American bias to recruit from. Then there are countries like Iran who could provide the insurgents with whatever equipment or expertise they need. This is nothing new really. Many prominent terrorists had solid educational background. Laden himself was said to have studied civil engineering before becoming evil although I am not sure if he left before graduating. Terrorists had always been keen to grab new technologies so they can abuse the hell out them. For instance Israelis were surprised by Hezbollah using UAVs and they were extremely shocked when one of their warships was struck by an anti ship missile. It is extremely dangerous to leave electronic security holes behind on assumption terrorists are too dumb and uneducated to exploit them.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Yes it is seeing as how laptops are capable of decrypting data so "people in hummves getting Predator feeds on laptops" in no way means that the feeds must be unencrypted and open to anyone with a laptop.
