There are ultra-orthodox groups - the Neuteri Karta come to mind - who disdain the State of Israel because as far as they're concerned the 'real' Israel will be founded by the Jewish Messiah (and they're pretty sure David Ben-Gurion wasn't Him). Of course they're content to live there and take advantage of whatever they can grab. But they have zero loyalty to the Israeli polity and would probably be equally content to live under Arab rule, so long as they get to do it in that particular area.

Well, to give credit where it's due, many of those extreme groups don't actually accept government benefits and services if they can avoid it (except services which they pay for directly, like water and utilities)

What are you talking about, they explicitly say that they discriminate on the basis of religion. Most Ashkenazim probably wouldn't be considered suitable either, for that matter.

Indeed they do, but my point is that they claim it is not bigotry because they believe their reasons for discriminating are somehow valid.

Exactly, I was originally answering the question of how come these guys are capable of such levels of double-think. It is easy to accuse them of lying, but the sad truth is that most of them truly believe in their bigoted worldview.
