I think, given the actual factual content, the article was about twice as long as it needed to be, but perhaps the author was required to meet a certain length.

Those who hate Palin will find their views confirmed, those who like her will dismiss anonymous sources (though not all of the sources were anonymous)

Intuitively, I suspect the journalist is probably correct, despite the lack of named sources; Palin probably is an ignorant, unstable, vindictive bitch. But this article only reaffirms what most of us already suspected based on what we saw during the election cycle, while offering nothing to Palin supporters who will dismiss this as more liberal lies.

Regardless, the most hilarious segment of the article actually was sourced, and given what we saw during the campaign, is doubtlessly genuine:
Vanity Fair wrote:[Colleen Cottle] describes the frustrations of trying to do city business with a mayor who "had no attention span - with Sarah it was always 'What's the flavor of the day?'"; who was unable to take part meaningfully in conversations about budgets because she "does not understand math or accounting - she only knows buzzwords, like 'balanced budget'
She's a woman, what do you expect?
