Not necessarily. It could just be timing, wherein a bigot decided to spraypaint a huge slur on the garage and the house caught fire coincidentally.

More of a nitpick than anything else, I'll freely admit, but it can't be concluded out of hand. I'm sure that that possibility can be disproven pretty quickly, though, after the arson investigators move in.
