Back to the topic at hand, the OP says that the high court "reserved its decision" with regards to the appeal, what does that mean specifically?

It means they've reserved their decision for a later date. It's quite standard, few courts will come back with a decision that day unless the case has been so convincingly made that there is nothing the judges need to discuss behind closed doors.
