I'm starting to think that a little bit of crazy in D.C. would be better than the tapioca we've been offered. I just don't want to be a Perot voter. The next eight months should be interesting, and since I'm in Tampa I'll have a ringside seat. Yay.

Weren't there a lot of optimistic analyses for Paul the last time around? Evidence seems stronger this time, at least.

Everything I disagree with Ron Paul about is essentially Republican dogma at this point anyway (minus the gold standard, I guess). I won't vote for him but if I had to pick a Republican president I might as well remove the possibility of foreign interventionism and hilarious/sad constitutional violations.

Ok, is anyone else having a sudden "WTF" moment thinking about Gingrinch in the front runner spot?

Because lets remember, this was the guy many wrote off as DOA.
This was the guy who, almost right after starting the race, took a massive expensive cruise overseas.
This was the guy who, shortly into the race has almost his ENTIRE STAFF quite en-mass and walk out on him.
And now HE'S the front runner?

Truely the GOP has utterly lost it this time...

This is the first I'm hearing he took a cruise, and only the second time I'm hearing his staff walked out on him. But really, isn't this what the GOP was looking for?

Someone who:
1) isn't Romney the Morman (which many Christians are uncomfortable with)
2) Hasn't looked stupid in the debates yet

And he even has name recognition.

Herman "I get my quotes from Pokemon" Cain didn't have significant staff on the ground in many states or political experience, still he was the front runner for a while. Except Romney, no 'real' candidates have declared themselves in the race - because nobody wants to loose to Obama. Gingrich has a bad history but in this republican field, him being an experienced politician sets him apart from all the nobodies.

This is pre-WWII. You can sort of tell from the sketch style, from thee way it refers to Japan (Japan in the 1950s was still rebuilding from WWII), the spelling of Tokyo, lots of details. Nothing obvious... except that the upper right hand corner of the page reads "November 1931." --- Simon_Jester
