We will never know if she was raped for her privacy and multiple political reasons, unless she comes on tape and says so, which I highly doubt that it will happen. So it is a null issue.

Ok, I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again. Her injuries sound more like the result of a vehicle accident than any thing else. I would bet that during the ambush her deuce and a half rolled over or ran into something.

While I cannot rule out torture, I also cannot think of ANY reason to torture a PFC for any information. What information could a maintenance file clerk know to warrant torture to extract it? (Maybe they wanted the super secret NSN number for oil filter or break pads or perhaps they wanted to know the status of the last PMCS done on the vehicles assigned to her company

) She was most likely slapped around, but I don’t believe she was "tortured". No reason to.

Not to take anything away from this woman, she has been thru a lot more than I ever have in my military career, and I respect her for her courage under captivity and I hope she resisted capture as long as she was able to.

As to rape, this is a realistic possibility for both male and female POWs. I hope it didn’t happen but we won’t know until she says something about it

Dargos, you forgot the two most likely reasons she would be tortured.

Because they can, and want to.

She is a double insult, to a vicous band of nasty folk, who see her as both an invader, and uppity bitch who needs to be taught her place.

The average Irqi might be a decent kind of guy, (Like the one who helped out of moral outrage) but she wasn't in the hands of the ordinary guys.
The nastiest of the nasty are running the show right now, and she was their plaything.

There is also a very good chance, that she was last to die, because there were enough decent guys to protect her. Funny how ALL the other of her group had broken legs, and broken legs is a standard Iraqi torture, as told by refugees, and captured documents.

Rape is a COMMON tool among dictators,and especialy in the Muslim countries. The social stigma, for the woman, and the man being forced to watch, is incredible. The Catholics in south America can at least claim to be innocent victims, without the "stained" stigma.
This is also from the people who torture children, in front of their parents, to get at the parents, when they must remain physialy whole. (Techs, merchants, scientists)

She still can be the driver of the truck and a supply clerk. Alot of Units do not have dedicated truck drivers, and if you are an able body, congrats you have become a driver on a convoy.
