Got it....
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Based off what CNN is saying, they first tested with hand held equipment and got inconclusive results. A Fox was brought in and got positive for nerve and blister agents. However a team is now being brought in from high up in V corps

Apparently two incidents here.

The one Hamel's article is talking about is a facility that contained a barracks and a farm that was a suspected WMD site, and there was possible ground contamination from chem weapons (suspected) or pesticides similar to them (later confirmed). No missiles.

The missile stuff is another incident elsewhere.

Why isn't anyone else reporting this missile story? It sounds an awful lot more convincing than the "drums" story if true. But CNN and FOX aren't on it, and you'd think they would be.

Could it be that the "missile story" is actually a telephone-game distortion of the "drum" story?

I should think so. This should be trumpeted from the rooftops if it were a different story.

The missile finds are being trumpeted from the rooftops.

It's confirmation that Iraq was deploying at least some chemical weapons in a military manner and that those arms escaped detection by the United Nations inspectorate.

No, it hasn't been trumpeted from the rooftops whatsoever. The other story, also posted on this board, has been- we haven't heard a peep about this since- Rumsfeld hasn't even mentioned it, where he mentioned the other one. How desperate can you get ... just be patient.

Yeah, let's wait and see first. I have no idea what chemical tests can be carried out on site, though it'll be interesting to find out.

They may very well be, military nerve agents have the same effects as some pesticides, but are just much stronger and more effective. Hell, Raid is a nerve agent which is why your suppost to stay out of rooms you spray.

After all, it as a company researching pesticides that discovered nerve gas in Germany accidently.

Damn Ted, you mouth is a lethal weapon, too bad it's aimed at your foot.

USA is a distant 4th place, at best, in trading with Iraq.

France #1

Germany #2

Russia #3

I believe, but do not know for sure, that Turkey, Jordan, and Syrria, have more trade with Iraq than the USA does.

Still, the conclusion that the USA buys more oil than anyine else should not be surprising. We buy most of the oil in the world, reguardless of source.
(from Iraq, this should be in the form of the iol for food program.)
The true measure here, should not be what percentage of Iraq's cash income is from the USA, but what percentage of the USA's income is derived from exports to Iraq.

Iraq' #1 source of foreign money may be the USA, but USA's
income from foreign trade from Iraq is pitiful.

I probably mistated my position.

It matters greatly to France, Germany, and Russia, if their income with Iraq is lost.

It matters not a whit if the USA loses all of the money coming in from Iraq.
USA might be Iraq's biggest source of foriegn trade, but Iraq is NOT the USA' biggest source of foregn trade.

Thus the term, "biggest trading partner, " has two meanings, depending on which side you are looking from.
That was my point, and I wish to state it clearly.
Bear in mind, this is only the LEGAL trade.
The black market is where the real money is being made.

Okay, I see your point now. However, in the page about France (in the CIA fact book) Iraq isn't even mentioned neither as export nor import partner. According to the page about Iraq they imported for $11 billion in 2002, which means that France at most earned two or three billion from trade with Iraq. This may seem much to me and you, but for a country that imported for over three hundred billion in 2002 it's nearly nothing.
