I just downloaded and watched that video, and I am pretty sure that those kids used foul means to get ahold of that tape, because if that was me I wouldn't have even had the camera going.

OK just saw the video for the first time and smiled a few times....BUT the remakes that add teh lightsaber effects and music had me laughing my ass off. Then I pondered this: Whose the bigger loser? Him. Or the guys that spent time and effort adding those effects and music?

Sadly, I have to agree with you. It is just like that mikey thing a year or so back. Newgrounds still has a whole section devoted to movies people spent time making just to mock something so stupid and forgettable.

IIRC Star Wars-kid forgot the video he had made of him self in the school studio where he had made it. The guys who are now getting sued, found it and uploaded it on to the net... However you should take that with a grain of salt, I've heard few different version with slight variations.

This is a case where both sides are acting dumb (the world is full of them), but Ghyslain is acting only a little dumb. If he played this perfectly, cleaned himself up a bit, got in better shape, he could make serious bank with this, springboard to fame style.

That's a lot to expect of someone, though. I don't blame him for not doing it; anyone who does hasn't had much experience with humans.

Whether he should get money, I feel, has a lot to do with the intent of the students who uploaded the video in the first place. If they did it out of cruelty or general mean-spiritedness, which seems like it could be the case, I say more power to him. If you can hold young adults accountable for the trauma they cause one another, maybe we'll have fewer Columbines in the future. Mind you, 250K seems like a lot, but if he's awarded something it'll probably be an appropriate amount.

No Aleyska, I codemn him for being stupid enough to tape it and then leave it around. If someone showed one of my school movies on the internet, I would look like an idiot too, but guess what, I showed that movie at school, and looked like an idiot anyways. We laughed it off.
This kid, simply put, was too stupid to think that a video of his fat ass flopping around with a staff could ever be seen by others.
Had he not taped it himself, I would have a great deal of symapthy for him, but people tape all kinds of moments that should be private.
Someone shows a tape you made of you with a hooker to your wife. You are an idiot and get divorced. This kid was an idiot, and gets ridiculed.
The alteration was a little overboard, however, the kid set himself up, and he got to be the unlucky sap who this happened to.

Ok, what are all the story versions?

He taped it at school alone and left it there for years?

He taped it for a school project and gave it to his back stabbing friends?

School project, but was taken by friends to be put on the internet?

Are there anymore versions?
