Canada is planning to buy the 105mm equipped Mobile Gun System, just to be clear. Not the APC version. And they've given only the program cost, which would include includes spares, training and ammunition.Rubberanvil wrote:For the Canadians the Stryker is hugely overpriced SA-80 on wheels at around ten million for each one.
Course, MGS doesn't and may never work. But Canada could also buy an existing a proven LAV assault gun design with a 90mm gun, or MOWAG's more recent Piranha which has a 5x5 varint which can carry a low recoil 105mm gun.
The A4 goes for about two million and that's not including spares and ammunition. I don't think any A5's are going up for sale for another year or two, and since they actually have decent armor there likely going to sell for more then that.Especially when Germany is selling Leo 2A4/5s for about a million each with spares, and etc. and still have monry to buy a couple of sea transports for them.
