You'd be surprised. This city has more than its fair share of total nuts. It wasn't that long ago that a church of child-beaters was in the news every night. I'm not talking about people spanking their kids. I'm talking about the preacher grabbing kids and whipping their bare backs until they bled for any minor transgression.

Plus I think there was another exorcism case where the preacher and the family killed a kid with Tourlette's Syndrome. A lot of exorcisms are done on people with Tourlette's, and if you've ever noticed, the symptoms of it and full-blown 'demon-possession' seem eerily similar.

Right. then you can just have him beat the child instead. More clean that way. He can always wipe the blood with his attire.

Except that beating the child isn't exactly part of your average exorcism. Usually it just involves lots of holy water and crosses. A priest would make damn sure the child didn't die at any rate, while nutjobs like her parents don't know what the hell they're trying to do.
