Wow, just wow. I mean, I never served and don't intend to, but I give props to Tillman (and his brother) for joining despite the money being thrown at him to play a game.

And we can do without Puerto Rico. I mean, half of them want to strike it out on their own anyway, right?

Tillman is an easy target for these kinds of people. He's a millionaire who's paid to play a game where he runs around and crashes into other millionaires. Then he gave all that up to go kill innocent theocrats (seriously, read the full essay and his defense of the Taliban). Tillman is a hero to the great ignorant mass of retrograde troglodytes which stands between the loonie left and the paradise on Earth that could be if only everyone read Chomsky. Of course they're attacking him. That they're discrediting their cause and that of everyone who opposes the war is of no concern to the true believers. They're not really interested in convincing anyone they're right, because their world is divided between the knuckle-draggers and the enlightened--the enlightened, of course, are the ones who agree with them already, and the knuckle draggers are beyond redemption.

no, sadly it is true. The President of the University Of Massachusetts felt so stongly about this he wrote a response critical of his faculty member.
