Yeah, that was said and acknowledged about ten posts ago.

Funny, I don't seem to remember anyone particularly caring about Miller's former segregationist views when he was praising Bill Clinton during the 1992 DNC where he was one of the keynote speakers. But now that he's with the Republicans, he's a DIXIECRAT!

I liked Zell Miller when he was with the Democratic party, and I still like Zell Miller (he really did a lot for my state, my college tuition is free because of him) and although I had mixed feelings about his speech last night, I can't say I didn't smile when I read this story. Matthews can be a real vindictive prick at times, he was asking for it and Miller was all too willing to give it to him.
I didn't like Miller in 1992 and I don't like him now. So I've always disliked him. But we're not talking about Bill Clinton's nomination.

Matthews > Miller. Did you even see Miller go off? Matthews didn't provoke him at all.

Drats! foiled again!
For I dipt into the future, far as human eye could see,
Saw the Vision of the world, and all the wonder that would be;
Saw the heavens fill with commerce, argosies of magic sails,
Pilots of the purple twilight dropping down with costly bales;
Heard the heavens fill with shouting, and there rain'd a ghastly dew
From the nations' airy navies grappling in the central blue;

We're talking about a man when on CNN immediately afterwards confronted by the fact that Dick Cheney also opposed some of the weapons systems as he accused Kerry of voting against repsonded with silence, and then "I didn't know that. But I know about John Kerry's record." When immediately followed up with "You know several times the president has called the War in Iraq and occupation and called American soldiers occupiiers." Asshole blinks and says "I didn't know that either but I did my homework on Kerry."

This fuckface like a rabid dog howled on the stage about things that BUSH HAS DONE AS WELL. He just stops short of calling Kerry and the democrats traitors for opposing the president in a time of war and people think he's being honest and hard hitting?!

Zell Miller was the one who led the fight to remove the confederate stars & bars from the state flag of Georgia. Yes, he's a rabid dixiecrat :roll:

Shep is right, the South didn't turn against the Democrats over civil rights. It was because people like Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Trent Lott and others suddenly became big fans of Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant in the mid 1960s. :roll:
