Before this thread goes necro, I'd like to publically apologize to Simon_Jester for being an ass when he didn't ask for or deserve it.

Rereading the thread from a more balanced state of mind, that much seems clear. While I stand by my basic positions, the method of delivery is poor indeed and should be acknowledged as such.

The explanation is that I was angry and trying to suppress it, only to have it come out even worse, and the reality is, that's still not an excuse.
