Actually, Ginette Reno sounds very similar to Janett Reno, President Clinton's Attorney General. Ginette Reno doesn't look a lot like Will Farrel in drag does she?

This I found particularly hilarious.

To be fair the Canadian dollars is treated as of equal value to the US dollar and is legal tender in a couple of states such as Alaska, and Southern Florida.
It certainly is not of equal value. The Canadian dollar is about 3-5 dollars more IIRC

The Canadian dollar is ALMOST equal to the US dollar. The US dollar is worth just a few cents more than the US dollar.

Unfinished business.
You didn't think we'd let someone burn our capital without a little payback did you? Stealing your hockey teams and moving them to places that shouldn't have hockey teams is just the first step in our evil plan.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
Who cares if they were from Canada, Canada wasn't a real country at that point (still isn't, in fact).

A ha!thanks for the help there Since it's not a country it's just a bunch of open territory waiting to be claimed. Time for our next Manifest Destiny Project lets get some homesteaders up to the Canadian Territory and settle that place. Sure there might be a few squatters in the way but they shouldn't be a problem.

But didn't the troops come down from Canada
Britain began sending it European forces to North America, I believe that the force in question were British regulars landed by the British Navy.
But you have to realise that Canada and Canadians were British subjects at the time. At the time they were "our" troops.
This was an interesting factoid I found some time ago (what I normally hear is that the burning was in retaliation for York):
In January 1814, after the Americans had burned Niagara-on-the-Lake and the British had devastated the American side of the Niagara, the British commander-in-chief, Sir George Prevost, issued a proclamation stating that Britain would refrain from such acts in the future if the United States would do the same. All was well until May 1814 when, in an unauthorised action, an American force burnt two small Canadian villages on the north shore of Lake Erie. It was this act that caused Prevost to ask the British admiral commanding the North American fleet to retaliate in kind against the Atlantic coast of the United States and the result was the destruction of public buildings in Washington.
Do you think we should try setting up reservations for the Native Canadians or should we just try to force integrate them into our society? Those heathens would really benefit spiritually by learning the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner.

Tax free reservations please. I can't stand pledges or national anthems.

Mostly British regulars, there was a small number of Canadian militia with them. They came by sea, which was pretty easy since the US had less then half a dozen vessels which could fight with Royal navy frigates and had nothing that could really match a lone 64 or 74, let alone a fleet of them.
The US was nearing completion on several 74's when the war ended however.

Have to balance out the temperature extremes you know.
The combination of American religious beliefs with the reality of American culture should provide a strong fifth column.

Eh, most of the military action is going to take place 100 miles within the border (where the bulk of Canadians live, IIRC), probably in a warmer season, so that shouldn't be an issue.
