Wicked Pilot, I did not say it was the problems in the invasion plans were the military's fault. Everything I've read has said that the military had a much more realistic idea of the problems they faced, which is why they wanted to go in with more men and have a shitload of MPs ready to keep public order in the Bagdad. But when theses troops were cut from the invasion force and a different invasion plan was used, I feel that I am justifiying in saying that the invasion plans sucked.
The Excellent Prismatic Spray. For when you absolutely, positively must kill a motherfucker. Accept no substitutions. Contact a magician of the later Aeons for details. Some conditions may apply.

Considering that the country was liberated despite the use of lesser forces than planned, the invasion was a success. What has failed is that there was not enough planning and preperation done on the occupation phase. Clearly extra troops are needed for policing duties that weren't required for the war.
