In justifiable circumstances we don't even have to give a verbal warning before using deadly force. An example would be coming up behind an active shooter.
Like I said in my previous post, the same is true for the german police officer.

I think the very small risk of that happening is acceptable. In fact, from 1996-2006 not a single innocent bystander was killed, with only 7 people wounded. That is for all of Germany.
How many innocent bystanders were killed or wounded by american police in that time period for comparison?

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? The same thing we´re going to say as we would if a cop shot a kid because the kid was carrying a replica. Actually there have been reports that cops almost shot kids playing with bbguns. Had the shooting policy been a bit laxer they might be dead. You´ve got a point, too, of course. There are up- and downsides to both methods.
The difference I think would be that when you're firing a warning shot your life isn't in immediately danger, and thus the utilization of a deadly force tool is not justified. When a police officer kills a kid who is carrying a BBGun that kid was taking action that made the officer feel like his/her life was in danger.
