Details of a possible delegate plan under discussion:
–Michigan’s delegates would be split 50-50 between Clinton and Obama.
–Florida’s existing delegates would be seated at the Denver convention—but with half a vote each. That would give Clinton a net gain of about 19 elected delegates.
– The two states’ superdelegates would then be able to vote in Denver, likely netting Clinton a few more delegates.
The betting: Florida and Michigan delegates, the DNC, and the Clinton campaign would all — some reluctantly– accept this deal.
Then it would be over to you, Barack Obama.
I don't see how Halperin thinks Obama will be the one to have a problem with this. He'd be happy to let Hilldawg net <25 delegates just so she STFUs about MI/FL and loses a giant talking point, and so the Cubanos can be placated.
The Hildebeest, on the other hand, needs far more from these states.
I dont' see how the Clinton campaign accepts that scenario, regardless of what Obama does. She's been pretty adamant in claiming victories in both of those states, and there's no way she'll accept a scenario in which she splits the Michigan delegates with Obama.

If it has a vote, she stands a good chance of losing.

She won't accept a vote either - she's interested in either keeping things the way they are and using the issue as a talking point, or seating the delegates with the results as they currently stand. Anything in between is a bit of a defeat for her, and at this point I don't see how she can afford to take one.

Hillary is not going to take the chance, if she can help it, of Democrats in Florida and Michigan changing their minds on her at this late stage in the game.

By all indications and polls she would lose a Michigan revote, and lose it bad. Florida she would likely simply lose some points thanks to the Old People/Cuban vote which Obama never can win over no more than Hillary can win the black vote.
*Edit, it's significant to note that the only area Hillary gets votes from on the race side is OLD Black people, just like she wins OLD white people, if your OLD anything your much, MUCH more likely to vote for Hillary for whatever reason.

Yet again, the Democrats are putting their own ineptitude and stupidity on display. I keep hearing this nonsense about how there has to be a "resolution" to the Florida/Michigan situation.
There already is one. Those states held their primaries off the DNC's schedule, breaking the rules that they voted to put in place and abide by. The DNC stripped them of their delegates as punishment. Bingo, problem resolved. All of Hillary's whining and bitching doesn't change that.
If the people of those states don't like it, they should complain to their state's Democratic party. That the DNC is even considering reversing themselves is absolutely absurd. If they do, what incentive do states have to follow the primary calendar the next time around? Apparently, all you have to do is throw a temper tantrum, and the DNC will placate you.

There's a problem, at least with Florida. The Republican Legislature and Governer attached the date change on top of a law intended to help with the hurricanes. The Democratic Party *did* complain. Didn't matter, they were outvoted, railroaded, and otherwise held helpless.
Michigan, on the other hand, had a Dem governor and legislature. They knew what they were doing...
