Bush gave up golf for the soldiers, what is your sacrifice?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Tuesday he quit playing golf in 2003 out of respect for the families of Americans killed in the war in Iraq.

"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the Commander-in-Chief playing golf," Bush said in an interview with Yahoo and Politico.com.

"I feel I owe it to the families to be as -- to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal," he said.

Bush said his last round of golf was in August 2003 when he was informed that a truck bomb had wrecked the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad, killing 22 people, including U.N. envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello.

"They pulled me off the golf course and I said, it's just not worth it anymore to do," Bush said.

I'm sure that is why you gave it up Georgie, not the fact that everyone watched the "We're gonna get the terrorists. Now watch this drive" clip a zillion times.

You can't make this shit up.

How big of him. Does this mean he's also going to cut back on his vacation time?

What did I do for the soldiers? I joined the army and went to Iraq. Unfortunately, while I was there I did a little golf practice in the back of the motor pool and I think that might negate my contribution to the war effort. In case it ever comes up for any of you, 7.62mm brass is about the right size to stand up as improvised golf tees. Just put the back end on a flat surface and put the ball where the bullet would go.

Ssshh! If we're going to surive this, we need him to be away from the center of power.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

I think it is worthwhile to point out that all of this country's Iraq war dead also no longer golf. In abstaining from golf they join with all American dead from all previous wars. This sacrifice is also shared by Generalissimo Francisco Franco, who has not played a single game of golf since his death in 1975. This is truly a great display of solidarity on President Bush's part. Today I will follow my great leader's example and not play golf. I imagine many of you, supporters and detractors alike, will do the same.
