Hmm... Now, just where did I last see a spectacle like this? Oh, that's right:The Democratic National Committee is bracing itself for protests outside its Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting on Saturday in Washington, where the fates of the Florida and Michigan primaries could finally be decided.
Supporters of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton are organizing to march and then gather on the street outside the panel’s meeting, scheduled for Saturday morning at a hotel in Northwest Washington.
“They’re coming up on buses, they’re taking the train, they’re Metro-ing, they’re coming up with friends,” said Allida Black, a professor at George Washington University and an event organizer. “We’re trying to flood it.”
The Rules and Bylaws Committee is expected to address the primary votes from Michigan and Florida, which moved up their primaries in violation of national party rules. The Clinton campaign has pinned its hopes on the Michigan and Florida votes being added to the totals, giving her a much-needed boost in the final days of the primary campaign.
Besides their goal of pressuring the committee into counting the votes from Florida and Michigan, Mrs. Clinton’s supporters are hoping that an en masse gathering will demonstrate widespread support for her candidacy — and perhaps persuade a superdelegate or two.

Karl Rove's own rent-a-mob which he bused in to Palm Beach County back in 2000 to strongarm the results of another election, the one that gave us Chimpus Caesar in the first place.
Now, hearing this story on NPR around lunchtime, she put out a statement saying that there was no organised effort to bring in Hillary supporters to protest outside the DNC HQ but that's bullshit on its face —there is no goddamned way you can't organise something like this and I'd bet that the campaign's had a plan for this meeting for several weeks now.
Whatever remaining shred of respect of benefit-of-the-doubt I may have had for this woman is gone. This is straight out of the GOP playbook and shows she's not going to accept any outcome which does not result in her taking that nomination on the podium in August. This is her resorting to strongarm tactics which have no place in a democratic society and no place in any party which claims to uphold the values of that society.
I never thought I'd be coming down to this regarding my overall opinion of Hillary Rodham Clinton. Back in January, I was undecided but leaning toward her on the experience factor, figuring that Obama was indeed a dynamic young leader of the future but still needed a few years polish. Since then, I have watched him rise to each and every challenge and outmanoeuver the "experienced" Clinton at every turn while watching her deterioriate further and further, running an increasingly ugly and desperate campaign and now she's degenerating to Nixonian skullduggery to try something, anydamnthing, to keep her tawdry campaign alive. This has nothing to do with her being a woman, or any of the bullshit the Right Wing kept cranking out over the years to tag on her, or Whitewater, or Rose Law Firm, or Monicagate. It has everything to do with her not only showing herself to be fundamentally unquailfied to be president but her showing what a low-class hump she really is when push comes to shove.
Go home, Hillary. Just do yourself a favour and slink off the national stage while you still have some chance to salvage a reputation.
