It's really neat - look at how MI is already totally fucked at the start, MS too, and how by the end of the animation the whole South, Midwest, and West Coast all have over 10% unemployment. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out - actually, I wonder if the people who made it could build unemployment history since 1930 into it.

Visualizing US unemployment
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Re: Visualizing US unemployment
As several posters are fond of stating, the way the BLS calculates unemployment data has changed over the years and while it is possible to pick and choose metrics from today and the 1930s, the resulting data would not be a very meaningful visualization.
