Update on Venables case

Post by mr friendly guy »

Remember when one of the Bulger killers was recalled to prison? Remember those rumours of him possessing child porn?

well he has been charged with it
Bulger killer Jon Venables charged with child porn offences
June 22, 2010 - 8:26AM

One of Britain's most notorious child murderers, who killed a two-year-old when aged just 10 himself, has been charged with downloading child pornography, it emerged yesterday.

Jon Venables, now aged 27, was sent to a young offenders' institution with another boy after beating to death toddler James Bulger on a railway line in Liverpool, northwest England, in 1993.

Following a public outcry over the case which saw Venables and fellow killer Robert Thompson become hate figures in the media, he was released on licence and given a new identity in 2001.

He was recalled to prison in February after being charged with possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Venables is accused of downloading 57 indecent photographs of youngsters on to his computer between February 2009 and the same month this year.

He is also charged with distributing seven indecent images of children in February this year.

It was reported in March that Venables had reoffended but ministers refused to confirm the nature of the charges, saying doing so could prejudice a future trial.

Media can now report some details of the case after a judge at London's Central Criminal Court lifted some legal restrictions.

Very disturbing news but somehow not suprising.

I assume as he's on license he will go back inside for a long time.

I remember when this case first happened, how they found that poor kids body sliced up on the train tracks. A 10 year old kid that torture-murders a toddler grows up to have no redeeming qualities. Imagine that.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
