New Birther theory

It turns out that Obama is the original birther. Say what? Well you see, according to this new theory, Obama lied about being born in Kenya to help him get into college. So its not the Birther's fault, its Obama's for this confusion about where he was born.

So what is Russia Today? A brief look at Wikipedia shows a lot of allegations as being Pro-Kremlin propaganda, but on the other hand it seems to have actual journalism slant going on; it didn't attempt to be "fair and balanced" it clearly reported on the news without having to take a middle of the road position by slamming the crackpots for what they are.

I'm intrigued.

It's the official English-language news arm of the Putin government. As expected, it has a lot of news about the negative aspects of the US, which makes it popular here, as well as decent stories on Russia and the world (just don't expect anything not approved- the bias is not in the reporting, the bias is in the selection).

On the other hand, when push comes to shove...

The Alyona show is on RT, however she mainly focusses on American politics, because its not a world news section. Can't speak for the rest of RT. However she actually isn't afraid to call the crackpots for what they are, and not afraid to ridicule the "mainstream media".

Blayne if you are interested, why don't you click on the channel from the youtube link and you can see for yourself the calibre of stories they showcase.

Russia Today isn't half-bad considering the circumstances of its relation with the Kremlin. I mean, I have seen some pretty damned good reporting coming out of there.

Unless you suspect them of editing Ken Bennett's speech with some clever editing software, then the point in this particular segment stands. Its kind of hard to argue when they show the man himself claiming Obama "fibbed" about being born in Kenya to get into college.
