U.S 'veterans' Unite against Obama

Post by Korgeta »

Basically a group called 'OSPECteam' who are a 'non political' advert but one that had an agenda against president Obama, the video seems directed at claiming Obama stole the credit of the troops that killed Bin Laden along with security leaks that they say Obama is also responsible for. This has popped up during build upto elections so it's clear to someone like me that there is a political agenda behind it.
Quite frankly it's a bit 'right winged' I don't know how well the group is known in the states, or if it's playing a big impact, but my memory seems to recall something similar to this was played out at 2004 against John Kerry's war record?

Anyway here it is.

Other veterans groups including this guy's former CO have gone on the record to tell this group to shut the fuck up, it's pretty much a non-issue.

Yeah, it was a pretty big part of the story back then. It's called "Swiftboating."

So, I'm pretty right-leaning for this board, but two points to make:

1) These guys share offices with a Republican PAC. "Non-partisan" my ass.

2) They're saying all this like information leaks for political ends from the Executive branch is a new thing. Have I read some information coming out of the Obama White House that seemed pretty suspiciously timed to put the President in a good light? Sure. But no more than any other Admin, so I don't single Obama out for criticism.

Leaks are going to be part of Washington culture for as long as leakers continue to suffer effectively zero consequences, and I don't look for that to change anytime soon. Personally, I'd favor much tighter enforcement of laws about disclosing classified information, but the GOP lost any right to complain about that when Scooter Libby was pardoned. He was the only DC leaker I can recall that actually faced the music.

There is already a thread for this... though I'm not sure which one started first.

There's two types of leakers- 'official' ones (like Scooter Libby) and unofficial ones.

My great criticism of the Obama administration's leaker policy isn't that they have official leakers. It's their casual ruthlessness in crushing unofficial ones.

Apparently I'm blind, so could you post a link so that I can combine them?

If you're talking about the thread I think you are, those ones were planning an actual coup d'etat, not just criticising him.
