Slightly old but thought it too ironic not to post.

Essentially the Nashville chapter of BLM had created a "safe space" at the local public library for their meetings there where only non-white people were allowed to attend. Only problem? The library had an anti-discrimination rule against that sort of thing and any meetings taking place on their premise must be open to everyone. Given the choice between allowing everyone to attend their meetings or not having their meetings at the library, they chose the latter and have been meeting at a local church instead (but not before releasing a statement decrying the "white supremacists" )

'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Regressive lefts are just as batshit crazy as their right wing equivalents. You cannot break down their racist beliefs it's beyond all kinds of reason.

And it wasn't like this was some hidden rule they would not have a reasonable chance of knowing. The one-page application form for setting up meetings at these libraries clearly states they must be open to the general public and the media. So either they didn't read the form when they signed up or they thought they could get away with breaking it.

Re: #BLM Nashville burned by anti-discrimination rule
I can understand such an organization's desire to avoid having potentially hostile whites trying to harass, hijack, or interfere with their meeting.
I do think it is counterproductive when advocates for the civil rights and interests of blacks pull away from whites who would want to support them in various ways, though. One of the reasons the '60s was a time of progress on civil rights is the formation of an alliance between blacks and whites who realized no one, not even the whites, was better off for living in a segregated country.

Look this video is edited, and you have to hope this is all rhetorical debating (although given the veracity of the little proto-fascist I'm kind of leaning towards sincerity), but this is a side of the #BLM and SJW crusade which people choose to ignore;

Well...you know. Minorities simply cannot be racist because racism is prejudice + power.Crown wrote:Look this video is edited, and you have to hope this is all rhetorical debating (although given the veracity of the little proto-fascist I'm kind of leaning towards sincerity), but this is a side of the #BLM and SJW crusade which people choose to ignore;
I briefly looked into that line of thought, and apparently it was first purported by a an author (sorry, forget the name) in the 1970's. I guess it is making a comeback. I guess they are so narrow minded that if every facet of society was represented equally by the races, then racism could not exist? Prejudice sure, but not racism.
Re: #BLM Nashville burned by anti-discrimination rule
It's more like the fear of being called a racist allowed racist minorities to get away with it from time to time.
Humans are such funny creatures. We are selfish about selflessness, yet we can love something so much that we can hate something.
