Protesting enters the realm of the bizarre

For those of you too lazy to read the link...
(post shamelessly copied from Kantoloopi over on SDMB and Apolyton)

Some folks in Belgium are apparently planning to hold a demonstration against American invasion and occupation of Europe in 1944-1945.

Yes.

Really.

American invasion and occupation of Europe in 1944-1945.

According to them, "The demonstration on May 25 is against the US invasion of Europe in 1944-1945, against the presence of US troops in Europe, and to demand the withdrawal of those troops. It is also directed against the American soldiers buried at Margraten: they fought as conquerors, to subject Europe to American values and American interests. They deserve no honour, and certainly no gratitude. They should be reburied in the US. "

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Er... is this being organized by a neo-Nazi group? 'Cause they are FUBAR in the head if they would protest the Allied invasion of Hitler's Fortress Europe...

in retrospecst, perhaps we should have just waited for a few more A-bombs to roll off the assembly line and saved ourselves the hassle.

What a fucking tard. After we "invaded" Europe we left democratic governments who routinely tell us to fuck off, not imperial protectorates.

Its this breed of shit I want the police to shoot. If they hate being liberated so much then we'd better give them the kind of law enforcement they want.

Agreed. If things had gone as this person wishes, then they would probably be taken out back and shot by the Gestapo...

Ack, I spent 15 minutes writting a comment only to lose it after clicking submit.  :x :x

I never remember to save it first before doing it.

I give up. It's not worth the effort.

Maybe someone could invite the moron to defend his ideas here

Jesus, when I read the OP, I thought, "This has to be someone using irony to ridicule the anti-Iraq war protesters." Judging by the reactions of the other people in the thread, I presume that isn't the case?

I thought that too...briefly. Don't know now, it looks like it might be "for real"

Oh yes, how insensitive of us. We "invaded" Europe and eliminated the the "enlightened" Nazi liberators.... and then we stuck around another 50 50 years and "subjected" them to our values when they could have been living under the "enlightened utopian rule"of the USSR.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

I don't see your post. Are you sure you entered it or did the fuckers censure it? I just posted a much abreviated version of what I intended to write in the first place, skipping the arguments against the article and the necessary insults to the dumbufck.

edit: In case they delete it, here'smy post

I'd like to point out a few things.

Maastricht is in the Netherlands, not in Belgium.

This announcement was placed anonymously on Indymedia NL, Indymedia BE and Indymedia UK, without any word about who would be organising this.

All the replies on this went something like "You are an idiot" except for a few that were once again anonymous and with a similar name as the original announcement, a random collection of slashes.

Nothing has been heared about this protestation appart from these announcements.
