this is absolutely horrible. US money is Green period, making it different colors will make it even more monopoly money like. Seriously I admit there is no logical reason not to change it but emotionally it just feels...wrong...

Seriously, the only advantage I see in making money different colors is for people with bad eyesight that need different colors to know what the bill's value is.

I don't miss them at all. When I travel in the E.U, it feels like home. When travelling outside Europe, we don't need dollars to be safe any more, the Euro does just fine.

Ours is on the way, though, starting with that travesty of a redesign a few years (excess white space and sans serif fonts...ugh...the only redeeming quality is the detail on the portraits is better). I dunno. Maybe I'm overreacting to the new colors (they might be something really subtle, like blue-green instead of grayish-green), but I doubt it.

We always had coloured bills.
Oh btw, the bills are *not* all the same size. The bigger the value, the bigger the bill.

gotta say that I actually like the euro, its cool.

I have no problem with non-american money being any color that anyone wants. but i still have a basic reaction of wanting to use green money at home.

Well then maybe these people can take their nice pretty colorful money and buy some contacts?

Seriously though, I don't get how making it colorful will help. If your sight is bad then you buy contacts or glasses to improve it. If that doesn't help, then you're probably legally blind, and all the pretty colors won't do jack shit. *shrugs shoulders*

It's not as bad as I thought, which doesn't mean it isn't bad. The color on the front I don't mind too much--it's mostly just green fading to white anyway, and the eagle watermark looks good. The wavy "USA Twenty" to Jackson's left, however, looks like someone got fancy with the yard sale flyers. Ugh. In the back, they added a bunch of damn yellow dots. Yellow dots. That's just great. Now it looks like Junior got into the money drawer with a magic marker.

It could be worse, I suppose. Euros might as well have "Monopoly" stamped on them, and Canadian bills look like wallet-sized prints of the kind of nature art you see in Holiday Inn lobbies.
