BAGHDAD, Iraq - U.S. troops have found no sign of bodies or even a bunker at the site where intelligence had said Saddam Hussein was sleeping on the war's opening night, a senior officer said Thursday.
-----------
This strengthens my comments I made on the eve of this war, that the attack on Saddam was simply a propaganda attack. IMHO: The goal of this attack was to demonstrate that the U.S. was attacking Saddam and not the Iraqi people, and would have been carried out in the complete absence of any *real* intelligence.
Nothing found at site of attack on Saddam.

I seriously doubt they fully excavated the site in a day, and it was hit with about twenty tons of penetrating high explosives. The lack of any bunker is meaningless anyway, Saddam spent the first war mostly in wood and brick houses.
Though its quite possibul he was there and that the site was evacuated on word that the attack was coming. Simple ground observers could alert the city in time to move to another location, Tomahawks have a long time of flight.
Propaganda make little sense, this attack threw away much of the shock effect of the opening campaign and expended a considerable amount of ordinance. Two F-117's could have conducted an effective propaganda attack with 80,000 dollars worth of bombs, rather then forty two million dollars worth of missiles.
