Do Communist Parties have any power?

Post by Gandalf »

Modern communist parties, does anyone know if they have any power or influence anymore?
"Oh no, oh yeah, tell me how can it be so fair
That we dying younger hiding from the police man over there
Just for breathing in the air they wanna leave me in the chair
Electric shocking body rocking beat streeting me to death"

"I think it’s the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately."

Depends on the country. In China, Vietnam, North Korea, Laos, and Cambodia, the Communist party is the government. In Russia and the former Warsaw Pact states, the party has as much power as the number of seats it can win in parliamentary elections. In the European Union, communist parties have to compete for column-space in the newspapers with garden societies. Whereas here in the United States, the CPUSA regularly gets its ass kicked in by the Thursday Night Bowling League. 8)

The Trotskyists were a factor in the Socialists' failure to defeat the National Front during the last French Presidential Elections, but French politics are, I grant, hardly typical for Western Europe.

The head of the New Zealand communist party was a SIS plant :D
There was also the time that the communist party lost all its newspaper archives to a fire, they appealed for the comrades to send in their old copies to restore their archives. The SIS offered to send them the complete set from their own store

Communist parties are illegal in Poland...

Now that it stops our socialist parties from descending more and more towards the extremes...most of them are composed from commie leftovers anyways :)

There are a great many communist parties in America, but most of them are jokes.
