Tasmania passes homosexual adoption laws.
Despite all of the ruckus made by our own religious right (including some utterly non-sensical TV ad campaigns), it is now legal for homosexual couples (gay or lesbian) to adopt children in Tasmania. Not bad for a state that only made homosexuality legal about 7 years ago.
